Season 1 · 2026

Sustainable technology in people management

In 2026, AI is no longer something companies trial. It sits inside hiring, training, evaluation and retention. The question is no longer whether to use it, but whether the people in the organisation come out stronger or weaker.

Three years of evidence show AI raises productivity, but unevenly: newcomers gain most, top performers gain least, and those who use it in the wrong places err more. Meanwhile, employees who sense AI could replace them burn out and think about leaving more often. Rising productivity can hide an organisation losing its people.

Season 1 puts both sides in one room. The university brings evidence and the next generation of talent. Business brings real cases and live challenges. It ends with recommendations on paper and cooperation signed on the spot.

Three content tracks

  1. 01

Technology and AI in people management

Recruiting, training, evaluating and retaining people with AI, in a sustainable, people-centred way.

  2. 02

    Educating the new generation

The capabilities students need to apply AI effectively and responsibly, alongside core knowledge and skills.

  3. 03

    The business perspective

What businesses expect from new talent, and the implementation challenges that need answers.

How the forum works

The two-house model

Academia

Contributes research evidence, teaching capability and the resources of faculty and students. Works with business to define the capabilities to develop and the direction of cooperation.

Business

Brings implementation experience, real challenges and expectations of talent. Pilots proposals and expands learning and employment opportunities.

Real business challenges are the connecting axis. Businesses set the challenge, the university and its students prepare proposals, and both sides define how to cooperate.

Why be there

  • Your own challenge.

At big forums you hear how other companies solved their problems. Here, your own company's challenge goes on the table, with faculty and students prepared in advance and written recommendations sent back.

  • Evidence, not opinion.

Both keynotes stand on the School's own published research on employees using AI and on Vietnamese SMEs. You leave with evidence to compare against your organisation.

  • Exactly 150 people, exactly one morning.

Not 1,000 people and a long day. More than 100 companies, faculty and a few student representatives in one room, small enough to speak plainly and close enough to sign on the spot.

How we read sustainability

Sustainability in three layers

The forum does not use the word "green" and does not stop at "business". Sustainability runs in order: education, people, then business.

Sustainable education

Curricula and capabilities for a generation of responsible business leaders. The university is the starting point.

Sustainable people

Workforce, occupational health and the long-term value of workers. Sustainable business starts with people.

Sustainable business

Models, supply chains, finance and impact. Placed last on purpose, because it is the result of the two layers above.

Sustainable business is the result of the two layers above.

Keynotes and the two-house dialogue

Two keynotes and one dialogue. Speaker details are updated as parties confirm.

  1. Keynote 1 · Research perspective

From human capital to sustainable organisational capability: what AI needs to be more than a tool

AI in individual hands is only a tool. It becomes organisational capability when turned into human, structural and relational capital. The keynote moves from research evidence on AI in business to the conditions under which employees dare to speak up when AI is wrong, and the university's role with the next generation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hà Minh Trí
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hà Minh Trí
Dean, School of Business, International University
President, AGBA Vietnam Chapter. Chair of the Scientific Committee, MBIC International Conference.
    Three things to take home
    • A self-check: has your AI capability become process, or does it still walk out with people.
    • The conditions for an organisation where someone dares to disagree when AI is wrong.
    • What the university can add for the next generation.
  2. Keynote 2 · Business perspective

From AI adoption to people development: transformation lessons from business

One real implementation case: how the work changed, how the team was trained, how results were measured, and the lessons for developing people sustainably.

    Coming soon
Announced once the company is confirmed, expected 1 October.

Two-house dialogue

Business challenges meet university evidence

Focus challenges selected from company submissions. The company sets the problem, the university brings evidence, other companies respond from practice, and the moderator settles one recommendation per challenge. The final part is Youth Voice, where students ask directly.

The core mechanism of the forum

Bring a real challenge, find the way forward together

Businesses submit a challenge they face in applying AI and developing workforce capability. The content team selects a few focus challenges as material for the dialogue. IU faculty and students prepare proposals in advance, discuss them at the forum, and the recommended directions are compiled in the Insight Brief after the event.

  1. 1

Tick the challenge box in the registration form, with a short summary.

  2. 2

Selected as a focus challenge The content team gets in touch to clarify context and expectations.

  3. 3

Discussed in the two-house dialogue with written recommendations delivered alongside the Insight Brief after 16 October 2026.

Submission deadline To be announced by the organising committee. Challenges sent through the registration form are still accepted.

What a challenge looks like

Real company challenges are anonymised on request. The example above is fictional, to show the format.

Context
A 300-employee retailer introduced AI for CV screening and performance summaries at the start of the year.
Problem
Hiring is faster, but three strong middle managers resigned within six months, all saying they "did not know what they were being judged on".
Constraints
Cannot drop AI, it is already paid for. No increase in HR budget.
Desired outcome
A way to use AI in evaluation without losing the best people.
Ready to pilot
Yes, in one department, next quarter.
A good challenge includes
  • brief context
  • a specific problem
  • real constraints
  • expected outcome
  • readiness to pilot

Challenges received

The challenge board is open. Tick the challenge box in the registration form to be the first company.

    A voice on stage

A seat in the dialogue or a slot to share implementation experience with leaders, faculty and students.

  2. 02

  3. 03

    MOU signing

  4. 04

    Brand presence

  5. 05

    Closed roundtable after the forum

After the close, up to 10 companies sit with the Dean and the speakers for 45 minutes. For companies that submitted a challenge or signed an MOU.

Simply leave your details in the registration form and tick partnership; the organising committee will get in touch to discuss.

Frequently asked questions

I run a small business and barely use AI. Should I come?

Yes. The evidence shows small companies and newcomers gain the most from AI when it is introduced well. You will hear both the research and companies that have done it, and you can submit your own challenge.

A seat in the 150-seat hall, programme materials, welcome coffee, and the Season 1 Insight Brief after the forum. The student ticket policy for IU students is announced once confirmed.

I want to submit a challenge without naming my company.

You can. Tick anonymous in the form. The content team uses only the context and the problem.

Who gives the keynotes?

Keynote 1: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hà Minh Trí, Dean of the School of Business. Keynote 2: a business leader, announced once confirmed.
